How To Choose The Right UV Film Thickness
UV film comes in several thicknesses and the right one depends on several factors:
- The material: The type of substrate you will be sandblasting on is one of the main factors in determining the appropriate film thickness. For example, if you're sandblasting on tile or stone, you should choose a thicker film because the sandblasting process will take longer.
- Depth: The required sandblasting depth also influences the choice of foil. For surface matting, a thinner foil is sufficient, while for deep sandblasting, a thicker foil should be chosen.
- Detail: always remember that you cannot sand a line deeper than it is wide. If your motif is very detailed, it is necessary to use a thinner film. If you use a thicker foil, lines that are too fine may not appear. If you want to use a thicker foil, it is advisable to adjust the graphic to increase the thickness of the too-thin lines.
