Time-Saving Tips for Decorating Glass

How many times a day does someone on the production floor or in the office ask one of these questions?

“What shade is that?”

“Does anyone have a RAL color chart?”

“Which brush should I actually order?”

Each question like this takes only a few tens of seconds. Over the course of a day, however, these minor delays can add up to tens of minutes, and over the course of a year, they amount to many hours of wasted time.

One way to minimize such situations is through the principle of visual management.

What is visual management?

Visual management is a method of organizing the workplace in which important information is presented clearly and at a glance. Instead of searching for data on a computer, in documentation, or in drawers, employees have the information they need right where they use it while working.

This can include, for example, color-coding, information boards, work procedures, material lists, sample charts, or other visual aids.

The goal is not to replace technical documentation or precise measurements. The primary purpose is to speed up orientation, facilitate communication, and reduce unnecessary searching for information during daily work.

We’ve also applied this same concept in developing several practical tools that can make day-to-day glass decoration work easier.

256 transparent HGC shades in one place

Do you work with HGC organic paints?

We’ve created a large-format poster showcasing the 256 most commonly used transparent shades. With it, you’ll always have an overview of the colors right in front of you, so you won’t have to open the color catalog on our website every time.

Posters featuring matte, translucent, and opaque shades are also in the works, which will further expand the color overview.

498 HGC Shades in One Photo Book

If you need a more detailed overview of the color options, we’ve also prepared a photo book featuring HGC organic water-based glass paints.

It serves as a practical reference guide for selecting shades and contains a total of 498 color variants divided into four groups:

- 294 transparent shades

- 54 translucent shades

- 8 matte opaque shades

- 62 effect shades

The photo book allows you to quickly compare individual color schemes, select suitable options for a specific project, or prepare materials for further consultation.

Thanks to its landscape A4 format, hardcover binding, and clear layout, it is suitable not only for offices or showrooms, but also for glass workshops, retail stores, or meetings with customers.

However, it is important to keep in mind that the photo book serves as a general guide. The final appearance of the color on the glass can be influenced by factors such as the type of glass, the thickness of the applied layer, the application method, drying or firing conditions, and the lighting conditions when evaluating the shade.

RAL Classic Always at Your Fingertips

If you use the RAL system when communicating with customers or architects, you’re surely familiar with situations where you need to quickly verify a specific shade.

The large-format RAL Classic K7 poster lets you keep an overview of the colors right in front of you. It’s perfect for the office, meeting rooms, and even the production floor.

For precise work, we of course recommend using the original RAL Classic K7 color chart, which is also available in our product lineup.

Which brush are you referring to?

Ordering paintbrushes over the phone can sometimes be more complicated than it seems. The names of the different types can be easily confused, and the verbal description alone isn’t always clear.

That’s why we’ve created a poster showing most of the brushes we supply at a 1:1 scale. Just take a look at the overview, and within seconds you’ll know which type you need.

Having information right in front of you saves time!

Sometimes a small change is all it takes to make your daily work faster and easier. When important information is always in plain sight, it can make it easier to find your way around, improve communication, and help prevent unnecessary misunderstandings.

Whether it’s an HGC shade chart, a color photo book, a RAL color chart, or a poster with paintbrushes, the purpose is always the same: to have the information you need quickly available right where you use it.

That’s exactly why we’ve created these practical tools.
