PANTONE colour of the year 2022

A new year is starting and as it has become a habit, PANTONE COLOR INSTITUTE has chosen a new colour of the year. This year the colour of the year was chosen to be Very Peri blue-violet (Pantone 17 - 3938). However, this year's colour of the year is also something special compared to previous years. In fact, this shade was created especially for this occasion, which is the first time in the history of the colour of the year.

Very Peri is a shade of blue-violet with a subtle red tinge that evokes a sense of newness and optimism. This colour is designed to inspire originality and creativity. Its vibrancy and energetic character are symbolic of the changes that are happening all around us in the world.

When choosing the colour of the year, Pantone is inspired by global trends that influence different areas of life, such as design, fashion, art and technology. Very Peri reflects the need to adapt to the rapid changes brought about by digital transformation and the growing emphasis on creativity and innovation.

Jak už to u PANTONE odstínů bývá zvykem, tak jejich barvu roku nelze připravit například z keramických barev pro kalené sklo, a to proto, protože neexistují pigmenty, které bychom mohli pro jejich přípravu použít.

As is usually the case with PANTONE shades, their colour of the year cannot be prepared, for example, from ceramic colours for tempered glass, because there are no pigments we can use to prepare them.

Fortunately, we also have good news for you. For organic paints, we have already been able to mix this shade in our lab (opaque gloss and matte versions)
