RegaBond Fused Tile UV Adhesive for Glass, 200g

RegaBond Fusion Tile is a special UV adhesive for glass, developed for bonding decorative fused glass pieces to flat glass surfaces. Its flexible formula accommodates the slightly irregular surface that may be found on the underside of fused glass elements.

The adhesive creates a flexible, durable, and water-resistant bond. Its refractive index and light transmittance are similar to those of float glass, which contributes to the clean appearance of the finished decoration.

When applying, it is recommended to leave a layer of adhesive at least 1 mm thick between the tile and the base glass. A sufficient joint thickness helps compensate for movement of the base glass and reduces the risk of the bonded element cracking.

Recommended Application Procedure:

Both the flat glass and the fused glass piece must be thoroughly cleaned before application. Do not use steel wool or solvents. Both bonding surfaces must be dry, warm, and free of residual moisture.

Apply a sufficient amount of adhesive (approximately 1 mm thick) to the base glass in a cross pattern and then diagonally in an X shape. Apply a circle of adhesive approximately 15 mm in diameter to the center of the underside of the fused glass piece.

Turn the glass piece over and let it settle on its own for about 10 seconds to allow trapped air to escape from the joint. Do not press down on the glass piece.

Perform the first curing for approximately 15 seconds. The UV light must pass through the backing glass from the bottom. Curing from above is not recommended, as the opacity or tint of the fusing glass may limit the passage of UV light.

After the first curing, remove any excess adhesive. Carefully trim around the edge of the glass using a suitable knife. Then perform a second curing for approximately 15 seconds and peel off the remaining excess adhesive.

For 4 mm float glass, the approximate curing time is 15 seconds + 15 seconds. The actual time may be affected by the performance and condition of the UV source, the distance from the lamp, the transmittance of the base glass, and the thickness of the applied adhesive.

Joint Strength:

RegaBond Fusion Tile withstood more than 1,000 hours of weathering testing according to ASTM G 53-94 without failure of the bonded joint.

In a flexibility test, the fused glass remained firmly bonded even after the substrate glass cracked. No defects were observed on the bond itself.

Storage and Safety:

RegaBond Fusion Tile reacts quickly to UV radiation. The adhesive must therefore be protected from sunlight and other sources of UV radiation.

When stored in its original sealed container, in a dark place, and at a temperature of approximately +5 °C, the shelf life is 6 months. After use, the container must be carefully resealed.

The product may cause mild skin and eye irritation. Wear protective gloves when working, avoid contact with the eyes, and keep the adhesive out of the reach of children.
