Cooperation between AMICA GROUP & TECGLASS

Continuous growth and the improvement of the control of the final product at all stages of production led the Amica Group to bet on digital printing technology and to choose the Spanish world leader TECGLASS as a reliable partner for the supply of a high-capacity digital printing line for glass decoration. 

Recently, the complete installation of a Vitro-Jet Single Pass HA digital printer with a maximum glass processing capacity of 600 x 900 mm and a printing capacity of 9 linear meters per minute was completed. In order to guarantee the high quality standards that are the hallmark of the Polish company, this interesting project included the installation of a quality scanner supplied by Tecglass.

The completion of the commissioning of the digital printer and its preparation for industrial production conditions marked a turning point for the Amica Group in the in-house production of decorated glass. 

During the installation, we also had the opportunity to speak with Mr. Dariusz Gorączka - Chief Technologist and Chief Enameller of Amica S.A., who gave us his perspective on what it meant for Amica to incorporate digital printing technology into its production processes and to establish a partnership with the Spanish company TECGLASS, a world leader in digital printing.

First of all, what were the main reasons that led Amica to choose Tecglass as its exclusive supplier of digital printing technology for this project?

Prior to the project, Amica did not have much experience in digital printing, so during the investment process we were already looking for a supplier that would help us to access new market opportunities for our company. In the end, we chose Tecglass because of its unique approach to its business partners. Tecglass has provided us with full support and high commitment from the beginning, and nothing has changed even after the technology has been commissioned. Also very important for us was the fact that they took responsibility for the whole process: not only for the printer itself, but also for the ink system. Last but not least, Tecglass was able to provide a comprehensive technology system and openly share their knowledge with our team at Amika.

How do you evaluate the whole process of establishing cooperation with Tecglass in terms of project definition, installation, operation and maintenance?

Throughout the whole process, at Amica we felt that Tecglass took care of the whole process. Even when we encountered a problem or challenge during the project, Tecglass always communicated openly and addressed the issues immediately. We were most impressed with the dedication of the technical team during the installation, who always went out of their way to ensure the highest quality.

What level of training and technical support did Tecglass provide during and after installation?

Throughout the project we have had several training sessions. Tecglass experts were always open to our questions and made sure we understood the printer's operation. Tecglass provided us not only with theoretical knowledge but also with practical skills. I also appreciate that Tecglass specialists are always available online.

Can you tell us what this new partnership with Tecglass means for the Amica Group and how the incorporation of this technology for decorated glass has contributed to the Amica Group in terms of production capabilities and flexibility in part of your product offering?

The new digital InkJet technology provided by Tecglass is completely changing the game in our industry. Firstly, the new technology allows us to be more flexible, enabling us to respond to market demand much faster than our competitors. Secondly, we have almost unlimited possibilities and are able to produce a diversified range of our devices and last but not least, we can be more resilient to supply chain disruptions because we have control over this key part of the production process.
