UV-Tek FC700 is a professional UV adhesive developed specifically for bonding glass bevels to flat glass. It features low viscosity and rapid curing via UV light. It is particularly suitable for applications that require fast work, precise bevel placement, and a clean joint finish.
The adhesive creates a flexible and durable bond. Its refractive index and light transmittance are similar to those of float glass and beveled glass, making it suitable for decorative glass elements where a clean appearance of the bonded area is important.
After initial curing, excess adhesive remains wipeable, so it can be removed before the final curing of the joint.
Key features of UV-Tek FC700:
- Designed for bonding glass bevels to flat glass
- Rapid curing via UV light
- clear formulation
- low viscosity
- flexible and durable bond
- Viscosity of 540 mPa·s at 21 °C
- Light transmittance greater than 99.8%
- refractive index approximately 1.5 ± 0.2
- Excess adhesive can be wiped off after initial curing
- Package size: 200 g
Recommended application procedure:
The glass surfaces to be bonded must be thoroughly cleaned and degreased before application. Apply the adhesive to the underside of the bevel. Then gently press the bevel against the glass to squeeze out excess adhesive, air bubbles, and any visible contaminants from the joint.
First, briefly cure the adhesive with a UV device and wipe off the excess adhesive. This is followed by a second curing to complete the bonded joint.
For 4 mm float glass, the approximate curing time is 5 seconds + 5 seconds. Depending on the equipment used, the total curing time ranges from approximately 10 to 14 seconds. The actual time may be affected by the performance and condition of the UV source, the thickness and transmittance of the glass, the distance from the light source, or the amount of adhesive applied.
Joint Strength:
UV-Tek FC700 withstood more than 1,000 hours of weathering testing according to ASTM G 53-94 without failure of the bonded joint.
In a flexibility test, the glass bevel remained firmly bonded even after the underlying glass cracked. No defects were observed on the bond itself.
Storage and Safety:
UV-Tek FC700 reacts quickly to UV radiation. The adhesive must therefore be protected from sunlight and other sources of UV radiation.
When stored in its original sealed container, in a dark place, and at a temperature of approximately +5 °C, the shelf life is 6 months. After use, the container must be carefully resealed.
The product may cause mild skin and eye irritation. Wear protective gloves when working, avoid contact with the eyes, and keep the adhesive out of the reach of children.
