A week with future masters of glassmaking

As has become an annual tradition with us, this year seven students of the first and second year of the Secondary School of Arts and Crafts in Valašské Meziříčí had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of glass technology and craft.

The internship took place in the premises of our company, namely in our training centre and laboratory. During this time the students got acquainted with various technologies in the field of glassmaking. One of the first points was to learn the sandblasting technique, which is one of the most traditional methods of glass processing. The students had the opportunity to try not only the sandblasting itself, but also the process of making UV photosensitive sandblasting stencils. 

Another interesting part of the week was learning about the process of patterning paint on glass. This part was very popular with the students thanks to our colour lab, where the colour patterning took place.

During this time, the students not only gained practical skills in the field of glassmaking, but also gained an insight into the workings of a professional working environment. The cooperation between the glass schools and our company showed the way to a successful link between theory and practice, which is crucial for the future career of young glassmakers.
