Rubber or metal templates are laser cut. This type of template has its own specifics, namely that the graphics must be modified (e.g. for the letter "O" the connecting bridges must be finished, which will hold the "island" inside the letter).

These stencils are reusable and have a long life - the number of sandblasting cycles depends on the amount of pressure, the coarseness of the abrasive used for blasting and also the fineness of the graphic (usually +/- 600 cycles or more).

Rubber stencils are most often used in conjunction with a sign blasting machine - the so-called "Sign Blast".
