A vacuum UV exposure unit designed for exposing photosensitive materials. In glass manufacturing, it is primarily used in the production of UV sandblasting stencils, where it is necessary to accurately transfer a design from an exposure template onto photosensitive film. The unit is compatible with RapidMask, UltraPro, R-Series, and MMX photosensitive sandblasting films and can also be used with other UV-sensitive materials.
Integrated vacuum frame for precise exposure
The exposure unit includes a vacuum system that presses the exposure master against the photosensitive material during exposure. A vacuum of approximately 0.2 bar helps ensure tight and even contact between the two layers, which is especially important when transferring fine details of the design.
The vacuum is generated by a built-in diaphragm pump. Once the vacuum frame is closed, the desired vacuum is reached in approximately 30 to 40 seconds.
Uniform UV Exposure
Exposure is provided by four 15-W ACTINIC UV-A lamps with a wavelength of 365 nm. The device is designed to ensure that the work surface is evenly illuminated. The high intensity of the UV radiation allows for short exposure times and good contrast in the resulting image.
Electronic timer for precise exposure settings
The exposure unit is equipped with an electronic timer featuring an LED display, which allows for precise adjustment of the exposure time. Operation is controlled via a single rotary knob used to set the mode, time, and to start or stop exposure.
During exposure, the display shows the remaining time, and once it elapses, the UV lamps automatically turn off. The timer allows you to work in both second and minute modes.

Using the Exposure Unit
Operation is simple. Place the photosensitive film with the sensitive layer facing up on the work surface and position the exposure template on top of it. After closing the glass plate, turn on the vacuum pump, which extracts the air between the individual layers. Once a vacuum is established, set the desired exposure time on the timer and start the UV exposure. When the set time has elapsed, the UV lamps turn off automatically.
